Well it is that time again and this year we spent Easter at home and although I had planned it very differently it has been a quiet affair, mostly due to the fact that on Saturday afternoon I fell ill and was later admitted to hospital with extreme pain due to a lingering gastro infection I had a few weeks ago. It seems that my stomach was badly inflamed and while making cupcakes and painting chocolate eggs I sampled an egg and it seems this was obviously too rich for my tummy that and the lindt balls of the night before…..this brought on extreme pain that would not subside no matter what I tried so off to the emergency room we went. There the doctor put me on a drip as he noted my pain was so sever no oral meds would do the job. Based on my history he diagnosed that it must be an inflamed tummy. So after a few hours I was discharged with some meds to take for 2 weeks and a instruction to rest and have a bland diet for that time. I will also have another scope done in 4 weeks time if it does not clear up. So no choccies for a few weeks for me I will just have to save mine. Well enough of the drama here are a few piccies I took before I got ill straight out of camera so not processed.
This year the USA had a pastel theme for all the Easter goodies and the M&M’s are so pretty. I also bought some nice table items like a cute tablecloth, some paper plates and the cutest party bags. Well there is always next year. I bought the children cute felt baskets to collect eggs in and Callum got to to collect his stash in one this morning
So I started baking my cupcakes and here is a sneak preview of the preparations.
This is a collection of the cupcake holders I have bought over time. I need to investigate how to keep them bright once baked as they seem to dull when baked due to the moist liquid.
I also have a huge collection of mixes and decorations.
I will hopefully finish icing the cakes today and will get some pictures of them to post.
Hope Easter was fun for everyone.
